A century ago, Holy Hunter Father Rosewood famously killed a man-eating demon. Yet, hidden within the magical town of Indigo Cove, Lila is alive and managing her power’s hunger pangs by playing the role of an unsuspecting local. As for her imp, Podwin, he no longer incinerates his enemies—he bakes with the dream of owning Windward Whisk. When the bakery owner dies in a tragic accident, Lila and Podwin are eager to claim it, but then his brother appears, threatening to unearth everything Lila has tried so hard to bury…

Expert stress baker Father Thorn has taken a sabbatical at the worst possible time. Weeks before their hundredth Holy Hunt celebration, Jude returns home to Indigo Cove, trading his clerical collar for the keys to Windward Whisk. Desperate to make peace with his past and find something to believe in again, he's blindsided when his new baking rival and neighbor turns out to be Lila—the woman he broke his celibacy for.

Lila & Jude's still-scalding chemistry comes in handy as Lila plots to drive him out of the bakery Podwin so badly covets. With Halloween marking the hundredth anniversary of Lila's demise, Podwin worries this succubus scheme will revert Lila to the feared monster she once was– or worse, make her weak to the autumnal charm of Indigo Cove and fall in love with their small-town enemy. But Lila’s past has her convinced soulless creatures like her weren’t made for matters of the heart… only eating them.
